With the acquisition of independence the Republic of Tajikistan began to release the own postage stamps, which are one of the symbols of sovereignty. The postage stamps, which sticking on envelope, leaves in distant journey, serve visiting card and ambassador of its country, without any go-betweens announce the information on live of state.
With the first issues of stamps is illuminated the history heritage of Tajikistan. On the first stamp depicted the gold buckle with scene of hunt on wild boar ( I-II BC.), which is located in museum a historian-archeological institute of the Academy of science of Tajikistan. On the stamps  are reflected also the main moments of international life. Introduction of the Republic of Tajikistan to international organizations there was noted in 1994 by the issue of numbers of stamps. On stamps, dedicated to 50-anniversary UNHCR United Nations High Commissioner for refugees is reported the important subject of fight for world and return the refugees to normal life. 10 - anniversary of CIS also there was noted by issue of stamp with depicting the flags of member-countries of Commonwealth.
Greater attention is spared for the protection-surrounding environment. Annually the stamps are released with scenes disappearing and rare types of flora and fauna.
Also the great attention gave for the athletic life of country.
From October 1, 2001 is created the State Unitary Enterprise "Markazi Marka", which was trusted important deal of issue the postage stamps. The main directions the multiform reflection of history, cultures, contemporaneity remain in issue of postage stamps that is to say detailed tale on all that is connected with past and present of Tajikistan.
That our product become familiar to shown the national traditions, at present are attracted young, talented, creative thinking artists, which notice the national particularities and reflect them in their own drawings. The name of artist created stamp, indissoluble bound with it's, and is mentioned in philatelic publishing of the different countries.
In 2003 is planned release the stamps, dedicated to 1000-anniversary Nosiri Hkisrav and 125-anniversary of Sadriddin Aini will find its reflection in stamps and Tajik's jewelry embellishment and headdresses.
Considering that 2003 is declared by year of fresh water, that why is organized contest of best drawing to stamp on subject "Fresh water", which will be complete May 7, 2003. The winners of contest will get of bonus and encouraging prizes. In July already will be publishing the new postage stamps "Fresh water". 
Besides, in 2003 is planned to organize trade cancelled stamps, that will enlarge popularity and will allow to buy the stamps for collection to schoolboys and pensioners. Will be organized the subscription trade by the stamps.
In prospect is planned to participate in World International Philatelic Exhibitions that will allow to adjust the contacts with foreign philatelists and attract the facility for development of philately.
In purposes the further development of philately and growing of the "Markazi Marka" is necessary attraction of facilities for:
- preparation and learning of the personnel;
- the organization of National Philatelic exhibitions;
- the advertisement and propaganda of philately;
- realization of activity on spreading the philately amongst children and youths;
- the international relations;
- the publication of philatelic news;
- creation the virtual shop.
