PRESCHOOL EDUCATION
In our republic there are 502 pre-school institutions. From 1996 till 2000 the number of pre-school institutions was reduced for 20%, the number of children in these institutions - for 25%. This fact can be explained by lowering of the quality of taking care after children and high pay for the services in comparison with incomes of parents.
The reason of reducing of the number of pre-school institutions and number of children, who attend them, is economic. It is difficult to maintain preschool institutions with the help of state budget. In our country there live over 1 million children of preschool age. Low paying capacity of families has led to the worsening of the quality of pre-school
institutions.
Ministry of education of Republic of Tajikistan takes practical measures on reforming pre-school education.
